13 Quick Tips to Improve Your Ludo Skills

Maximize Your Points per Move

1. In score-based Ludo, every tile moved equals 1 point. Always prioritize moving a token rather than skipping a turn if possible.

2. Getting a token Home usually grants a massive bonus (e.g., 50+ points). If a token is near the finish line, prioritize it.

3. When you roll a 6, check if opening a new token or moving an existing one yields a better immediate point swing or setup.

The Art of the Capture

4. Capturing an enemy token not only deducts their accumulated points but often adds them to yours. Hunting is highly rewarded.

5. Do not leave your high-value tokens (ones close to home) exposed. The point loss is devastating.

6. Sometimes it is worth sacrificing a low-value token (just out of base) to secure a capture on a high-value enemy token.

7. Hover around enemy spawn zones if you need a quick point boost, but be ready to retreat.

8. If an opponent is far ahead in score, your only win condition is capturing their lead token. Go on the offensive.

9. Use blockades offensively to trap enemy tokens and force them into bad point trades.

Clock Management

10. Score-based Ludo is timed. Always know exactly how many seconds are left.

11. If you have a solid point lead and the timer is under 30 seconds, play extremely defensively. Do not take risks.

12. If you are behind with 30 seconds left, abandon safe zones and throw everything at capturing the leader.

13. (Always end your turn quickly to maximize your total moves before the timer runs out, play aggressively when trailing, calculate point differentials instantly, memorize safe zones, play dual-token strategies to bait opponents, and most importantly: never give up until the timer hits zero!)
