Defensive vs Aggressive Ludo Strategy: Which is Better?

The Aggressive Player (The Hunter)

Aggressive players prioritize capturing opponent tokens above all else. They will deliberately leave their tokens in vulnerable positions if it means they have a chance to strike a high-value enemy token on the next turn. They thrive on the psychological warfare of sending opponents back to the start.

Pros: Generates massive point swings (especially in score-based Ludo). Demoralizes opponents.

Cons: Highly risky. Aggressive players often get their own tokens captured while hunting.

The Defensive Player (The Runner)

Defensive players prioritize safety. They memorize the exact distances between safe zones and will refuse to move a token unless it lands on a star. They utilize blockades and prefer to keep their tokens clustered together to minimize risk.

Pros: Very consistent progress. Highly frustrating for opponents to deal with.

Cons: Can be slow. Struggles if they fall behind early and need to catch up quickly.

Which is Better?

The best players are adaptable. In standard Ludo, a defensive strategy often prevails. However, in Jungle Dice's score-based timed matches, passive play can lose you the game. You must learn when to turtle up, and when to unleash your inner hunter!
